Who We Are

At U-Turn Ministries Canada we don’t believe that there are hopeless people or situations; we do, however, recognize that there are many students growing up in difficult and challenging environments who just don’t have very much hope yet.  That is why we exist, to step in and to shine a light in some of the darkest places and darkest moments to bring hope and the message of the Gospel to generations of young people. 

We believe that it is better to build boys and girls and help set their life on a right path at an early age than it is to repair broken men and women years down the road.  We believe that prevention is better than intervention; that reaching the next generation at an early age and introducing them to the love and hope of Christ is the best chance at setting their young life on the right road.

U-Turn Ministries was founded in 2002 in Wallaceburg, Ontario by Jason Cartier.  Originally, his heart was to reach children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through a mobile ministry hosted in strategic locations throughout the community. Over time, however, the overwhelming need for a local multi-dimensional outreach ministry expanded and enlarged Pastor Jason’s heart and his vision. He saw that there was more that needed to be done to reach not only kids, but also teenagers and young adults.

In 2009 U-Turn Ministries welcomed Sandy and Ryan Duffy as partners. Originally, Sandy and Ryan spearheaded a very fruitful youth program known as Vertical Connection in Brigden Ontario. Sandy’s passion was to give young people growing up in rural Southwestern Ontario a clear, creative representation of what God’s love looked like. 

In 2020 Sandy and Ryan moved on to establish Pretty Road Farm Store Co. Pretty Road Co. is a farm -based retail store where they share the goodness of food. 

In 2021 U-Turn welcomes Scott & Ashley Williams as our youth directors. Having Scott and Ashley serve through U-Turn is our defintion of success, given both grew up attending and leading in various capacities. They both bring a ton of passion and competence.
